Newport temps were in the upper 30's and very damp from rain....not used too riding in complete winter gear but I was comfortable....after about 30 miles temp was up close to 50 and had to change from a fib tights to leg warmers, thermal jersey for a lighter one, lighter gloves etc....rode with that stuff the rest of the was as it never reached the 60's....
Had a bit of climbing hills, a few at at least 6% grade....I know that because the signs on the road warning to put on snow chains....road along several rivers....beautiful....remote....quiet....
Was going to stop for lunch in Bonners Ferry....rode past several places and where I "planned" to stop was closed for Labor Day....rather then back track I moved on and was lucky to find one last place as the last 45 miles had zero options....
At the "welcome to Montana" sign I lost an hour going from PST to MST....so I knew my finish was going to be later and limited my photo ops....also had rain showers the last 30 miles to end the day....
Day 2. 114 miles. Total. 166
