Rolled in to the motel about 5:30pm....flight from Austin to Denver on time....flight from Denver to Spokane had a 30 minute delay due to malfunction with the only bathroom on the plane....a very small plane and most carry on had to be gate checked....shipping my bike to the shop appears to have been a very good idea....sitting around the airports and waiting was awful when you want to be on the move....cab to the bike shop no issue....my bike was ready and met a couple nice guys who work there.....they were real curious about where I was going and just told them Glacier....I still think it's best to only share limited information for safety plus I wanted to go as it had to be around 1:30....a bike route to get north of town took me through Gonzaga University campus....some road construction after got me confused and I ended up on Hwy 2 way earlier then the bike route....very busy....no shoulder and even a few no bike signs to which, as Amos Lee would say, "fuck it"....temp was in the low 50's and pissy rain most of the ride.....stopped at a Subway and brought that to the motel....its kind of a dump but I've stayed in worse....all in all a long day....it's nerve racking when so much is out of your control....I am grateful that's things went as well as they did....
Day 1. 52 miles Total 52 miles
